Yo! Time for some journal stuff!

Drawings
I've decided I'm going to practice with fanart for a while before I tackle some of the stuff I've planned:) This way my strange concepts wont be so lackluster when it comes to technique or skill hehe. So expect some generic fan stuff from me for a while ;p

Films
I recently saw 'Drag me to Hell' in the cinema :D It was great! it's so obvious when things are going to pop out at you but I guess that's what made it fun to watch hehe. There are some... silly bits in the film :P these include an 'anvil to head' scene that will have many of you reminded of loony tunes, and a very angry talking goat (don't ask). But overall it was typical Sam Raimi stuff and real fun to watch, just make sure you watch it with friends because thats half the fun :3

Oh I also saw the new X-men film. I wasn't too impressed, the previous films were done much better than this mindless action romp D: If your not a fan of X-men you'll have no idea whats going on (the film assumes you know everything already) and if you are a fan you may be disappointed by some of the characters that pop up like Deadpool and Gambit as they aren't as cool (or accurate) as they should be. and before any of you say it- NO, naked Hugh Jackman does not make a good film D: Regardless, it's pretty fun as long as you aren't too picky.

Games
No games for me as I'm currently broke :( I may be able to rent Prototype soon though So I look forward to that :)

Music
Muse tickets are on sale! D: I'd chop off an arm for a pair of tickets (provided someone would sew it back on ;o) I'm aiming to get them on me Birthday which is around the corner but I doubt I can blag them as they are mucho expensivo :(

Long time no update! D:

Yo!

Its been a while since I’ve updated my journal so I’m gonna do that nao ;o

Drawings
Its been quite fun for me recently with drawing. I’ve been experimenting with a bunch of styles and I have a couple of drawings in the works (as always, never sure when they'll be done D: ).

Films
In relation to the last journal entry I’ve seen 7 out of 10 films I set out to watch :D My favourite so far is Taxi driver so if you've never seen it give it a go as its a freakin masterpiece D:

On a more recent level I've yet to watch The watchmen or have a gander at Gran Tarino however I DID see The Curious case of Benjamin Button. I didn’t like it D: Twas to long and important events were few and far between. Most people I’ve spoken to about it either love it or hate it ;o having said that the visual effects were convincing :3

Games
I blew MGS4 wide open last summer so I can almost die happy now ;o I've become addicted Street fighter in the last couple months, finally completed Dead space and am now squeezing out as much as I can get out of Resi 5. The latter being finished in one hardcore sitting with a mate >:3

Music
I’ve discovered a band called Whiskey cats who are a Indie/jazz band from Manchester. They are a completely new sound to me and I love them to bits :D So go check them out![link]

Yo!

As a film student I realize I haven't seen nearly enough films. This is the sad truth... and I will stand for it NO LONGER!

SO! Ive compiled a list of 10 films that i haven't seen but are regarded as films you MUST see before you die.

I'm gunna list them here so you can see them and maybe join me in my journey of Filmage! I'll put up little descriptions of the films for you guys... just for fun :)

Image Description
The seven Samurai

A poor village under attack by bandits recruits seven unemployed samurai to help them defend themselves.
The oldest film on my list and probably the one I want to see the most!

Image Description
12 Angry men

A dissenting juror in a murder trial slowly manages to convince the others that the case is not as obviously clear as it seemed in court.
Ever since seeing 'A few good men' I lurves me some court dramas =P. But the plot does seem genuinely interesting.

Image Description
The seventh Seal

A man seeks answers about life, death, and the existence of God as he plays chess against the Grim Reaper during the Black Plague.
Its a grim plot and I love the concept. It looks like a really thought provoking film.

Image Description
Dr. Strangelove

An insane general starts a process to nuclear holocaust that a war room of politicians and generals frantically try to stop.
I'm intriged to know how its considered a comedy. I'm really looking forward to this one!

Image Description
Taxi Driver

A Vietnam war veteran gets a job as a taxi driver in new york city. observing the city and its inhabitants with disgust from his taxi he just cant sit there and do nothing...
I actually saw this before making this list. Its a fucking MASTERPIECE. Trust me its just so well made and deep you can't not like it.

Image Description
Boyz’n the hood

Saga of a group of childhood friends growing up in a Los Angeles ghetto.
Ive seen clips of this years ago and Ive wanted to see it ever since.

Image Description
The Thing

Scientists in the Antarctic are confronted by a shape-shifting alien that assumes the appearance of the people that it kills.
Ive wanted to see this for years. Its a classic horror film that everyone loves to bits.

Image Description
Princess Mononoke

On a journey to find the cure for a Tatarigami's curse, Ashitaka finds himself in the middle of a war between the forest and Tataraba, a mining colony. In this quest he also meets San, the Mononoke Hime
Im a big fan of Japanese Anime and Ive heard nothing but good things about this!

Image Description
Natural born killers

Two victims of traumatized childhoods become lovers and psychopathic serial murderers irresponsibly glorified by the mass media.
I saw the first ten minutes in class once... 'Kick ass' is all I can say...

Image Description
Requiem for a Dream

The hopes and dreams of four ambitious people are shattered when their drug addictions begin spiraling out of control.
You can't go wrong with a film that has this soundtrack [link] AWESOME

So there ya go! I'm so watching these... you should too! Image Description

Yo peeps

Just so happens to be the anniversary of my birth today. So to celebrate we went to see Hancock at the cinema yesterday (because Im working today sadly :P)

Hancock was such a fun film to me. Will Smith is great as always and the concept of a homeless superhero is just genius. The special effects although not too convincing are still really effective

Its awesome up until about halfway when the story twists a little and spoils the fun 'just because' vibe I was getting from it to start with. But it is just a fun film to go see with whoever so dont take it to seriously and enjoy! ^_^

Also if your interested in a good opportunity check out :iconzombryn:'s journal for info on how your T-shirt and logo designs could be used :3
