Yo!

As a film student I realize I haven't seen nearly enough films. This is the sad truth... and I will stand for it NO LONGER!

SO! Ive compiled a list of 10 films that i haven't seen but are regarded as films you MUST see before you die.

I'm gunna list them here so you can see them and maybe join me in my journey of Filmage! I'll put up little descriptions of the films for you guys... just for fun :)

Image Description
The seven Samurai

A poor village under attack by bandits recruits seven unemployed samurai to help them defend themselves.
The oldest film on my list and probably the one I want to see the most!

Image Description
12 Angry men

A dissenting juror in a murder trial slowly manages to convince the others that the case is not as obviously clear as it seemed in court.
Ever since seeing 'A few good men' I lurves me some court dramas =P. But the plot does seem genuinely interesting.

Image Description
The seventh Seal

A man seeks answers about life, death, and the existence of God as he plays chess against the Grim Reaper during the Black Plague.
Its a grim plot and I love the concept. It looks like a really thought provoking film.

Image Description
Dr. Strangelove

An insane general starts a process to nuclear holocaust that a war room of politicians and generals frantically try to stop.
I'm intriged to know how its considered a comedy. I'm really looking forward to this one!

Image Description
Taxi Driver

A Vietnam war veteran gets a job as a taxi driver in new york city. observing the city and its inhabitants with disgust from his taxi he just cant sit there and do nothing...
I actually saw this before making this list. Its a fucking MASTERPIECE. Trust me its just so well made and deep you can't not like it.

Image Description
Boyz’n the hood

Saga of a group of childhood friends growing up in a Los Angeles ghetto.
Ive seen clips of this years ago and Ive wanted to see it ever since.

Image Description
The Thing

Scientists in the Antarctic are confronted by a shape-shifting alien that assumes the appearance of the people that it kills.
Ive wanted to see this for years. Its a classic horror film that everyone loves to bits.

Image Description
Princess Mononoke

On a journey to find the cure for a Tatarigami's curse, Ashitaka finds himself in the middle of a war between the forest and Tataraba, a mining colony. In this quest he also meets San, the Mononoke Hime
Im a big fan of Japanese Anime and Ive heard nothing but good things about this!

Image Description
Natural born killers

Two victims of traumatized childhoods become lovers and psychopathic serial murderers irresponsibly glorified by the mass media.
I saw the first ten minutes in class once... 'Kick ass' is all I can say...

Image Description
Requiem for a Dream

The hopes and dreams of four ambitious people are shattered when their drug addictions begin spiraling out of control.
You can't go wrong with a film that has this soundtrack [link] AWESOME

So there ya go! I'm so watching these... you should too! Image Description

Hehe sorry about that Gwn, just had to for the joke to work on msn :P

I've only seen one of those films - The Thing and it RAWKS! It's the first film I was ever too scared to watch (also one of the first scary films I was allowed to watch...under age of course :P ) I saw the beginning then went back to it the week after still totally shitting myself. Great times and such a classic! :D

I'm really interested in The Seventh Seal, Taxi Driver and Natural Born Killers (I may have seen the latter). Thanks for the great list sire. I may do something similar when I get subscribed again :) <3 xxxxxxxxxxxx

I just saw reqium for a dream

don't watch it when you're high it's a trip.

And be warned, it's a total downer
there's like nothing positive in that movie.

And it's very graphic.
:iconyuushoku:
I doubt its worse than 2001: a Space odyssey... now THAT was a trip... =p

If it leaves you feeling down then it just means its done what its meant to. Thats a sign of a good film.

Yeah man!

It was awesome! Animation was great and so was the story. I didn't feel much for the characters though like I did for Howl's moving castle or spirited away... but Thumbs up none the less!
